Sandy Hook victim’s father testifies in Alex Jones trial

Infowars founder and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is now facing two more defamation trials brought by parents of other victims, after being ordered to pay a total of $49 million in damages.

One trial in Texas brought by the parents of another victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary mass shooting. On Friday, his lawyer said the case was on hold due to the bankruptcy of his company.

and the second trial in Waterbury, Connecticut, for the families of eight other victims.

A jury in Austin, Texas, decided Thursday that he should pay more than $4 million in damages to the parents of six-year-old Jesse Lewis, who was killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre. On Friday they ordered Jones to pay an additional $45.2 million in punitive damages.

Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis filed a defamation suit against Jones over his allegations that the school shooting, which saw the deaths of 20 children and six adults, was a hoax.

It emerged during the trial that his attorney had mistakenly shared the entire contents of Jones’ phone with the opposing legal team he was asked to present to the January 6 panel.

Why Jones is being sued by the families of Sandy Hook victims

Hours after shooting and killing 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, Alex Jones began making false claims that the massacre wasn’t real.

More than 10 years later, the inflammatory comments of the far-right conspiracy theorist continue to haunt him as the families of the shooting victims – 20 of them young children – hold him accountable in court.

After multiple attempts by the Infowars host to delay and derail justice, his time is finally up.
