Eric Ten Hag’s reign as Manchester United manager got off to the worst possible start as his side succumbed to Graham Potter’s Brighton at Old Trafford.

The hosts managed to reduce the difference with a goal through Alexis McAlister’s goal, but they were unable to find the important equalizer.

Man United were not present at the races, as their midfield was revealed and their fans singled out McTominay, who failed to go in the middle of the park.

He was fortunate to avoid a red card after his reckless tackle on Moises Caicedo, as Ten Hag finally dragged him in the 77th minute.

Man United fans expressed their feelings over McTominay’s lackluster performance on social media.

Speaking after Man United’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton, Roy Keane called out McTominay – claiming he was not “good enough”.

“Fred and McTominay, they are not good enough,” he said on Sky Sports. “They will not make Man United compete for the top.”

The Red Devils will resume their Premier League campaign next Saturday when they face Brentford.
