Bournemouth signed Brazilian goalkeeper Neto from Barcelona on a free transfer deal.
The 33-year-old has agreed to a 12-month deal with Cherries.
Neto was crowned once with his country and participated in 21 games with Barcelona after joining from Valencia, his rival in the Spanish League.
“Being able to attract a player of Neto’s caliber is a lot of fun,” said Bournemouth chief executive Neil Blake.
“This is a real revolution for the club and we are delighted that he chose to join us. He has extensive experience at the highest level of the game so I am sure he will be a great source of strength for us.”
Neto started his career with Paranines in Brazil before moving to Italy with Fiorentina. He moved to Juventus, where he won five titles in two years and earned a Champions League runner-up, before moving to Spain.
It is the club’s fourth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Joe Rothwell, Ryan Fredericks and Marcus Tavernier.
Bournemouth started his Premier League campaign with 2-0 win over Aston Villa On Saturday, following their promotion from the championship.
