It seems that Fox News host Tucker Carlson is still upset about an interview he had with Jon Stewart nearly 20 years ago. Stewart called him “Dick.” He urged him to go to journalism school on his own program.
Thursday night, Carlson unleashed a series of very personal and very bizarre insults at Stewart over his advocacy for health care for American veterans. Carlson said Stewart looks “like someone who lives in the men’s room of your public library, eating fake bugs out of the air” and a “homeless mental patient.”
“He’s screaming and he’s very shaggy and short,” Carlson said. “Really short. Too short so far. Was he always this short? “
Stewart responded with a reminder of Carlson’s intimate affection for Hungary’s far-right authoritarian leader, Viktor Orban:
Many were reminded of the now-legendary 2004 showdown between the two on CNN’s “Crossfire,” which was hosted at the time by Carlson and Paul Begala.
Stewart said the two “are hurting America.”
“You have a responsibility to public discourse,” he said, “and you’ve failed miserably.”
“You need to get a job in journalism school,” Carlson told Stewart.
Stewart replied, “You have to go for one.”
Later in the part, Carlson said Stewart had more fun on his own show.
“Do you know what’s interesting, though?” Stewart replied. “You are as big a penis on your show as you are on any show.”
Stuart apologized at the end – Dex.
