Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday was quick to defend his daughter’s bearish Republican primary campaign by releasing an ad that showed her obsession with former President Donald Trump.

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY), who is down in the polls by about 30 points and strongly predicted that she will lose the primary on August 16, posted an ad starring her father, Dick Cheney, that did not mention her rival, which Trump endorsed. Harriet Hagman, but focused rather on Trump. Dick Cheney claimed:

In our nations’ 246-year history, there has never been an individual who posed a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump. He is a coward, a real man will not lie to his supporters. He lost the election and lost a lot. I know that, he knows it. And deep down, I think most Republicans know that.

Then Dick Cheney claimed that his daughter’s obsession with Trump was to “do the right thing” by “honoring her oath” to the Constitution “when so many in our party fear doing so.”

Dick Cheney claimed: “Liz is fearless.” “She never backs down from a fight. There is nothing more important she will ever do than lead efforts to ensure that Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office. And she will succeed.”

It’s unclear how Liz Cheney retaining her seat in the House could prevent Trump from winning a potential 2024 election, but the media has argued that Liz Cheney might run for president on a third-party ticket to absorb the former president’s votes. Liz Cheney has stated that she will make a decision about running for president in the future.

Dick Cheney is the last rich and famous person to come out and support his daughter’s re-election. In recent weeks, Hollywood celebrities have endorsed Liz Cheney, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama donating to her campaign. Liz Cheney also requested Democratic votes to overcome her deficit in opinion polls with Republicans in the state.

Liz Cheney’s alliance with Democrats also extended to the bipartisan January 6 committee, which sought to investigate the January 6 incident without focusing on alleged FBI informants on the Capitol. Liz Cheney is one of ten Republicans who voted to impeach Trump. If she loses the primaries, only three Republicans will remain in office.

“Liz Cheney lost Wyoming. Liz Cheney doesn’t live in Wyoming. She doesn’t represent us,” Hageman told Breitbart News. “She doesn’t represent our values.”

Cheney’s stance against Trump and America First did not resonate with the Republicans. The Wyoming Republican Party “disenfranchised” Cheney by not recognizing her as a Republican. Cheney supported Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-California), Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and former Wyoming Representative Barbara Cobain, who backed Hagman.

According to PredictIt of Odds, Cheney she has Only a two percent chance on the dollar of winning. Trump favored Harriet Hageman 99 cents on the dollar. Opinion polls also show Cheney trailing Hageman by about 30 points.

“The big story is that Liz Cheney is going to be defeated,” said Brad Coker, managing director of polling firm Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy, reflecting on a preliminary poll released in June. “This is an imposed result.”
